Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board known as JAMB is a Nigerian government agency responsible for organizing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the Direct Entry (DE) exams for candidates seeking admission into various higher education institutions in Nigeria. JAMB helps to ensure that only qualified applicants are admitted into higher education institutions.

• The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is for candidates who have completed secondary school education and wish to gain admission into universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education.
• The Direct Entry (DE) examination is for candidates who already possess a diploma, NCE, or an equivalent qualification and are looking to enter a degree program.

When is JAMB Registration Starting for 2025?

The JAMB registration usually lasts for six weeks and at the end of the registration, all applicants are given time to print their exam slips and prepare for the UTME exam which will take place later. The JAMB registration for 2025 is set to commence. The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration and examination exercise will commence on January 31, 2025. The exact dates will be posted on JAMB’s official website and other media channels. Candidates are encouraged to register early to avoid the rush as the deadline approaches.

The 2025/2026 JAMB UTME Exam will start on Friday, April 18, 2025, and end on Monday, April 28, 2025. It will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at accredited centers nationwide. Candidates should check their exam date, time, and venue on the JAMB portal or via SMS.
