ESUT Cut-Off Mark 2025/2026

The general cut-off mark for ESUT is 160, except for some competitive courses like Medicine and Surgery, Law, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science and Pharmacy, which have a higher cut-off mark of 200. This means that you need to score at least 160 or 200, depending on your course of choice, in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to be eligible for the post-UTME screening exercise.

However, scoring 160 or 200 does not guarantee your admission into ESUT, as other factors determine the final admission list, such as the number of applicants, the available spaces, the performance in the Post UTME, and the catchment area. Therefore, it is advisable to aim for a higher score than the minimum cut-off mark to increase your chances of getting admitted.

How does ESUT calculate its Aggregate Score?

• The Post UTME screening exercise will consist of a computer-based test of 50 questions, drawn from English Language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, as well as your UTME subject combination.
• The Post UTME score will be calculated as follows: (UTME score/8) + (Post UTME score/2). For example, if you scored 200 in UTME and 40 in Post UTME, your aggregate score will be (200/8) + (40/2) = 45.

ESUT Post UTME Eligibility:

• Candidates who score exactly or above the required cut off mark.
• Candidates who chose Enugu State University of Science and Technology as their preferred choice of institution during the UTME Registration.
• Candidates are also required to obtain the required O’level credits for their programmes as specified in JAMB Brochure.
• Candidate must be at least 16 (Sixteen) of age.
• Interested Candidates who did not choose Enugu State University of Science and Technology during the UTME Registration but wish to study in the University, should change to the ESUT via JAMB website.

N/B: It is very easy to obtain admission if one has met the required cut off mark for admission into a particular course.
