UNICAL Post-UTME/DE Form 2025: Cut-off mark And Eligibility

University of Calabar (UNICAL) Post-UTME/Direct Entry Screening 2025/2026: What You Must Know

It’s that critical time of the year again! The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has officially kicked off its 2025/2026 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening process. If you’re aiming for admission—here’s everything you need to navigate the process smoothly.

Cut-Off Mark & Eligibility

  • Minimum UTME Score Required: 150
Whether UNICAL was your first choice or not in JAMB, you must have scored at least 150 to be eligible.
  • First-Choice Candidates: If you listed UNICAL as your first preference and scored 150 or above, you’re eligible straight away.
  • Switching Schools? Didn’t pick UNICAL initially? No problem. Change your institution to UNICAL via the JAMB portal and, provided you have 150 or more, you’re good to go.

Registration Timeline & Fees

  • Portal Opens: Friday, 18 July 2025.
  • New Closing Date: Registration ends at midnight on Monday, 11 August 2025—so don’t wait for the deadline.
  • Fee: ₦2,000 non-refundable.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step

  1. Payment Options:
    • Bank (E-transact): Visit a commercial bank, request UNICAL Post-UTME payment, obtain an E-transact PIN.
    • Online: Buy a Post-UTME PIN via the UNICAL portal and use the Transaction ID as your PIN.
  2. Complete the Application:
    • Visit myunical.edu.ng, navigate to “UTME Admission Screening.”
    • Log in with your JAMB Registration Number and PIN.
    • Fill out the form, submit, and print your application summary for future reference.

Screening Process Update: No Aptitude Test

Important: UNICAL has cancelled the traditional Post-UTME aptitude test for the 2025/2026 cycle. Instead, candidates will be assessed using a point tally system based on O’Level results.

  • The registration portal has already been closed—meaning applying is no longer an option at this stage.

What to Bring (or Leave at Home)

Even without a physical test, if you’re eventually required to verify credentials or attend any screening-related activity, be prepared:

Bring:

  • Your Post-UTME Schedule (if provided).
  • Your 2025 UTME Result Slip.

Leave at Home (if ever applicable):

  • Calculators, mathematical tables
  • Smartphones, smartwatches
  • Bags of any kind

These items are prohibited and will be confiscated if found in any UNICAL testing or screening environment.

Avoid Missteps

Accuracy matters:

  • False declarations regarding UTME scores, O’Level grades, or state of origin will lead to automatic disqualification.
  • O’Level grading matters: your high school results now carry more weight, so ensure they are error-free and verifiable under the new point tally system.
