What should I bring with me to Jamb examination hall?

This is a very sensitive area when it comes to the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board examinations because Jamb will never let you into the examination hall without the stipulated items neither will they let you in with prohibited items.

Things to Take to the JAMB Exam Hall 2025/2026: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is the body that conducts the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates seeking admission into various tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The UTME is a computer-based test (CBT) that assesses the candidates’ knowledge and skills in four subjects: Use of English, Mathematics, and any two other subjects relevant to their chosen course of study.

Items candidates are expected to come with on exam day

  1. JAMB Registration Slip: This is the document that contains your personal information, exam date, time, and venue. You need to print it out from the JAMB portal and bring it along with you to the exam hall. You will use it to verify your identity and locate your seat. You can also use it to check your exam number and subject combination.
  2. JAMB E-Slip: This is the document that shows your passport photograph, biodata, and exam details. You need to print it out from your email or the JAMB portal and bring it along with you to the exam hall. You will use it to log in to the computer and start the exam. You can also use it to check your exam number and subject combination.
  3. Valid ID Card: This is the document that shows your name, date of birth, and photograph. You need to bring a valid ID card to the exam hall. You will use it to verify your identity and age. You can use any of the following ID cards: National Identity Card, Voter’s Card, Driver’s License, School ID Card, or International Passport.
  4. Writing Materials: You need to bring some writing materials to the exam hall. You will use them to do some rough work or calculations during the exam. Items a candidate must not come to the exam venue with

Now, candidates must be very careful so as to not attract penalties as grievous as disqualification on their exam day. Trying to smuggle in forbidden items such as ;

5. Calculators Or Similar Electronic Devices

8. Wrist watch

9. Books Or Any Reading/Writing Material

13. Ear Pieces

14. Ink/Pen Readers

15. Smart Lenses

16. Smart Rings/Jewelry

17. Smart Buttons and Bluetooth devices

18. Hard disks or similar storage devices

If caught with any of these items above in the exam hall, you will be automatically disqualified from taking the exam and risk getting arrested.
