Yobe State University (YSU) has officially announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening for the 2025/2026 academic session. Available Programmes

YSU offers admission into a variety of programmes across its faculties, including:

  • Faculty of Arts (Arabic, English, History, Islamic Studies, etc.)
  • Faculty of Science (Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, etc.)
  • Faculty of Social & Management Sciences (Economics, Sociology, Geography, Political Science, Accounting, Business Administration, etc.)
  • Faculty of Education (various education courses in Arts, Sciences, and Social Sciences).

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the YSU Post-UTME or Direct Entry screening, candidates must:

  • Choose Yobe State University as their first choice in UTME or make the change before the screening deadline.
  • Score at least 140 and above in the UTME (some programmes may require higher scores).
  • Have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects, including Mathematics and English, in not more than two sittings.
  • Direct Entry applicants must hold a minimum of Lower Credit in ND, Merit in NCE, or a good level in IJMB/A’Level results.

Application Procedure

  1. Visit the official YSU screening portal and create your account.
  2. Generate an RRR and make payment of the screening fee through the designated payment channels.
  3. Fill out the online application form with accurate details, including O’Level results and UTME score.
  4. Upload your documents (passport photograph, O’Level result, and other required credentials).
  5. Print your acknowledgment slip after successful submission — this serves as evidence of registration.

Important Notes & Tips

  • Ensure your O’Level results are properly uploaded on the JAMB CAPS platform before the admission exercise.
  • Double-check all personal details before final submission to avoid disqualification.
  • Apply early to avoid network congestion or last-minute issues close to the deadline.
